Qualcommโ€™s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is shaping up to be an absolute powerhouse, if the latest leaks are to be believed. According to a tipster, the new chipset could deliver a massive performance jump, with its AnTuTu score rumored to be around 50% higher than the current Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The leak also sheds light on the CPU and GPU clock speeds. The Adreno 840 GPU will see a slight bump over the Adreno 830, while the CPUโ€™s performance cores are expected to hit 4.61GHz by default. Interestingly, an early test on a Galaxy S26 Edge reportedly used a higher-binned version of the chip, pushing those cores up to 4.74GHz. On the efficiency side, the smaller cores are said to be locked at 3.63GHz.

Like its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is rumored to stick with a โ€˜2 + 6โ€™ CPU cluster design, but with significant improvements under the hood. If these numbers hold true, Qualcomm could be gearing up to deliver one of the biggest generational leaps weโ€™ve seen in years.

Qualcommโ€™s upcoming flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, is expected to pack some serious power, and the latest leak gives us a clearer picture. On the GPU side, Qualcomm will pair the SoC with the Adreno 840, which is rumored to run at a default clock speed of 1.20GHz โ€” slightly faster than the Adreno 830โ€™s 1.10GHz. Thanks to TSMCโ€™s third-generation 3nm process, Qualcomm seems to have more headroom to push frequencies higher this time.

But the real jaw-dropper here is the AnTuTu benchmark score. According to the leak, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 allegedly crossed 4 million points on AnTuTu. To put that into perspective, the current benchmark leader, the REDMAGIC 10 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, scores around 2,662,615 points. If these numbers are accurate, the Gen 5 delivers nearly a 50% performance boost over its predecessor โ€” a massive generational leap.

Interestingly, Samsung appears to have a big advantage this time. Thanks to an exclusive agreement with Qualcomm, the upcoming Galaxy S26 series will reportedly be the first to launch with the fastest, top-binned version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

All eyes are now on the Snapdragon Summit, scheduled for September 23, where Qualcomm is expected to officially reveal the chipset and confirm these rumors. Stay tuned โ€” things are about to get very exciting for Android performance enthusiasts.
